What We Do: Wollescote Park Visit

As part of our community action across the UK, we’re supporting the fantastic work done by fellow Green Flag Award-winners, the Friends of Wollescote Park, in their local community, including a wonderful sensory garden feature.

“The Greenbelt team were really impressed by our work to create a sensory garden that makes the park more inclusive to people with additional needs, sensory impairment or dementia,” said organiser Julia Louise-Marks.

“We met at the Green Flag Awards and we were delighted they decided to make a donation to us.

“All of the volunteers love the park, and we will continue with our work to make it more sustainable.”

Our Community Liaison Officer, Nick Upton, was able to visit and tour the site recently, and hand over a donation of £500 from Greenbelt Group towards the cost of renovating existing buildings including toilets.
