What We Do: Light Up Northstowe
With Christmas just around the corner, Greenbelt Group is contributing to a selection of festive-themed community events on and around our developments, ranging from Christmas tree and light installations to carolling choirs, nativity scenes and more!
These fantastic shots from Phil Mynott, for Northstowe Arts, show the lights being switched on at the recent Light Up Northstowe festival, towards which we donated, on our Cambridgeshire development of the same name.
“We had a brilliant time at Light Up Northstowe!” said Mari O’Neill, Director of Northstowe Arts, the community interest group which organised the event.
“It was fantastic to see so many familiar and new faces coming together to celebrate our growing community.”
“Thank you to everyone who performed, made a lantern, took part in the parade, ran an activity or stall, or came along and supported!”
Meanwhile, we also provided a donation towards the costs of the Christmas tree at Highfields, Derby, where a similar festive gathering was organised by the local authority.
“I am pleased to say the Christmas event at Highfields was a great success with a very good turnout,” said Kate Sharpe, Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer for Findern Parish Council.
“We had a singer of vintage Christmas songs, a visit from Elsa and the Naughty Elf, also the big man himself was there with a gift for every child!”
