Three of the Best for a Festive Northstowe We’re delighted to announce a triple whammy of support funding for the Northstowe community to help ensure the festive celebrations are the best yet. We’ve donated £300 to support the Light Up Northstowe event and a further £500 towards the Christmas tree. Light Up Northstowe, which is part of the Northstowe Winter Festival, takes place on Saturday 3rd December and organisers are expecting up to 300 members of the local community of all ages to join in the fun. Revellers can join the Lantern Parade, which begins at 5pm from the north end of Bug Hunter Waters or gather at the Green from 5-8pm where there will be food trucks, a live music stage, community groups, switching on the lights on the Town Tree . . . and, of course, a certain jolly chap in a red suit with a big white beard! It's not only the reindeers who have to keep up with Rudolf this year: Greenbelt has also donated £80 towards incentives for people to get out running in the months ahead, as part of the Northstowe Running Festival. Our Customer Liaison Officer Nick Upton and Regional Operations Manager Tom Hulme have also attended the quarterly Northstowe Community Forum at Northstowe Secondary College. This is only the second meeting this year to be held in the real world due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. Nick said: “This was a really great way of meeting homeowners and representatives of other organisations to share important information. “We had the opportunity to explain that we have now taken over further areas of the infrastructure from this month and also detail all of the latest information for operations and billing. “We look forward to continuing to work with homeowners at Northstowe and helping them build a vibrant community. “Meantime we hope our sponsorship and support for Northstowe events will help everyone enjoy the festive season.” If you’d like to let us know about your idea for a community project and how we might be able to help, visit My Community where you can simply log in to your online account and fill out the application.
