Countdown begins to key conference There’s only one day to go until the Garden Communities and New Towns Development Conference launches at Kensington Town Hall in London. Gemma Leonard, Partner – Head of Residential at DAC Beachcroft, will open the conference with a keynote address focussed on the ‘garden village boom’ and how it can support initiatives to level up. In the day’s full and expansive itinerary, session one take the form of a thought leadership discussion on the current state of garden communities. Key stakeholders will discuss progress made in the past 12 months and development needs for the future. Following a short networking break, session two is a roundtable discussion to showcase the important roles garden communities and new towns have in levelling up communities. Session three, which is sponsored by Greenbelt and will be chaired by our very own CEO, Andrew Duthie, will look more closely at ‘Major Garden Community and New Towns Development Plans’. Andrew will highlight key areas of expertise for Greenbelt, such as ‘Placekeeping’ and ‘Long-Term Stewardship (LTS) Solutions and Enabling Placemaking’. Closing the conference is session four, as garden village developers discuss sustainable practices and how to support biodiversity as a part of their schemes. Greenbelt are looking forward to what promises to be an informative and engaging event. You can keep up to date with the conference highlights, right here in our News section.
