Championing Stewardship at the Building Garden Communities Conference We were delighted to be named as one of the supporting partners at the third annual Building Garden Communities (BGC) Conference last week. Members of Greenbelt's Sales, Business Development and Senior Management teams were among the 190+ delegates - including major housebuilders, council and planning officials, industry experts, and more - in attendance at the RIBA London conference. There was a strong focus on exploring sustainable practices with long-term viability; the agenda included presentations on 'Decarbonisation and Climate Resilience', 'Designing for the Future', and 'Adapting for Future Travel', all focusing on how conscientious actions (and designs) today can lead to a greener future."It was great to represent Greenbelt at the third annual BGC Conference," said Robin Waddell, Greenbelt's Business Development Director."This was Greenbelt's first attendance at this conference."A variety of speakers discussed the requirements Garden Village Community projects must consider or incorporate to make them a success."Long-term Stewardship (LTS) - in which Greenbelt specialises - is one of these key factors.""The third annual Building Garden Communities Conference brings together councils, housebuilders, planners, stakeholders and industry experts to discuss key topics," said a spokesperson from the BGC conference."These include making the financial case, design, inclusivity, travel, climate resilience and stewardship - and how these factors will impact both the new garden communities in planning, and those which already have a spade in the ground."To find out more about how Greenbelt delivers sustainable long-term stewardship, click here.
