NORTHSTOWE IN THE RUNNING

Exercise and play in green spaces are renowned for helping boost our health and wellbeing . . . and so we welcomed the opportunity to help support the Northstowe community and beyond get in the running!

What We Do: Northstowe Half Marathon, Fullscope 5K

We were very pleased to sponsor the Northstowe Running Festival in late April for £500 cash, which went towards the prizes for the popular Northstowe Half Marathon and Fullscope 5K events on April 24th.

We’ve also pledged a further £500 for the forthcoming Northstowe Festival of Running on September 3rd and 4th, where there will also be fun activities, a street food market, community stalls and evening entertainment.

While we’re proud to support the residents of Northstowe in their commitment to the Running Festival, our very own Donald Ferguson, UK Services Manager, and Nick Upton, Community Liaison Officer, actually trained hard and took part in the challenge!

The Half Marathon spanned a multi-terrain route through the new town of Northstowe, where runners can enjoy a backdrop of landscaped and biodiverse green open spaces.

The Fullscope 5K, meanwhile, was structured as a single-lap course around the lovely natural and landscaped areas of the Water Parks.

All the profit from both the April and September Running Festivals will support young people’s mental health and wellbeing. As well as sponsoring the events, we’ll also be distributing well-deserved Greenbelt Goodie Bags to participants at the finish line!
