Debbie Dean reaches Golden Gate Bridge

There is no bridge too far!

DEBBIE DEAN has risen to the challenge and completed a gruelling 380km cycle trek through Yosemite National Park in California . . . all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

And it’s really proving that she is a friend in a million: £1,000,000 that is. That’s the sum she is confident of raising for cancer charities in memory of her sister and best friend, who lost her life to the disease.

Mother-of-one from Glasgow Roseann Gallagher was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on November 17, 1999. She was given a 48% chance of survival for the next five years, and began creating a book of personal accounts by people who had lived through the disease called Cancer No Not Me!

She wanted to raise £1,000,000 for cancer care through fundraising and the book sales (www.cancernonotme.co.uk).

Now 43-year-old sister Debbie has continued her vow. Already she has raised more than £7000, having taken part in the Great Scottish Run half-marathon, a mass Zumbathon and now this latest American cycle adventure.

An elated Debbie said: “I would like to thank Greenbelt for their support. I can’t thank them enough for their sponsorship.”

Congratulations to Debbie. We wish her all very best in her future charity-raising endeavours.
