Cancer will directly affect hundreds of thousands of people in the UK this year, with some health experts estimating one in two people will be diagnosed with the disease at some stage in our lives.
As many of our customers across the UK will know, we lost our own colleague and dear friend Anne Shipton Middleton just before Christmas.
At the memorial service to celebrate her wonderful life, a collection generated an astonishing £1,500 for cancer charities.
The staff at Greenbelt also collected an additional £600.
This means we were able to share a total sum of around £2,500, including Gift Aid, with three very well deserving organisations: Marie Curie, Hearts and Balls and Cancer Research UK.
This comes after our team also managed to raise £600 for Strathcarron Hospice from our Christmas Jumper Day.
Anne’s husband and Greenbelt’s Chief Executive, Alex Middleton, would like to thank everyone who contributed to such a fantastic cause and also express his personal gratitude to those who have sent their heartfelt wishes.
If you too would like to make a donation, these are the links to our three charities.
