Help us stop the vandals!

Greenbelt would like to voice our concerns over what appears to be orchestrated attacks of vandalism on a play area in Glen View in Kilmarnock.

We have contacted local police after the latest incident, when play equipment was found to have been smeared in mud and grass from the safety grass matting beneath the equipment – which appears to have been deliberately dug up in the play area.

Greenbelt strives to offer the highest quality of service to our homeowner customers.

However, we have no way of defending open spaces and play areas against repeated episodes of anti-social behaviour.

Our team have been onsite to inspect and clean the play equipment and begin the process of repairing the grass mats, although the snow fall this week has not allowed for the completion of these works.

We will ensure it is completed as soon as the weather improves.

We would urge all Glen View residents to report all instances of vandalism, littering and fly tipping to their local police.

Alternatively, you can call Greenbelt on 0800 028 1749, in the strictest confidence, should you wish to report any damage or anti-social behavior you may have witnessed.

We will pass on any information to the local Community Police, who have already agreed to offer extra attention to the play area.

A community that stands together to protect its environment is also helping to combat the costs associated with dealing with anti-social behaviour.

Only by working together can we ensure Glen View offers adults and children a safe and clean environment to enjoy for many years to come.

Thank you for your help!

Cove In Bloom 2017

Congratulations to Cove and Altens Community Council in Aberdeen. Not content with their In Bloom Silver Medal award in 2016, they’re already hard at work helping to enhance their local green spaces for this year’s competition.

And, once again, Greenbelt is incredibly proud to support the team’s work and sponsor summer planters.
